With the chaos of X and the constant threat of TikTok being taken away, I have heard whispers about what people expect the next big thing to be in the social media world, and while it could just be my limited worldview, I don’t think the next thing will be big. In fact, I would guess that what we will see is a step backward and a shrinking of our social media circles.

As someone who has worked in social media for a while, I have spent quite a few Decembers pouring over the upcoming year’s projected social media trends. And I can tell you that most of the time, I walk away remembering next to nothing because there’s TOO MUCH! So many trends are shared that it’s overwhelming.
